Vintage Chinese Pewter and Gilt Pagoda-Style Temple Candlesticks – Pair
An exceptional pair of vintage Chinese temple candlesticks featuring architectural pagoda-inspired silhouettes, intricate pierced metalwork, and richly detailed gilt relief panels.
Each candlestick features a tiered, geometric form with hexagonal candle platforms, sculptural columns, and decorative openwork galleries. The pewter-gray metal bodies are beautifully contrasted by gilt panels depicting traditional Chinese birds, flowering branches, foliage, and scenic motifs.
The elaborate design incorporates pierced floral borders, raised decorative medallions, and distinctive stepped bases with angular feet. The combination of warm gilded ornamentation and cool pewter tones creates a sophisticated contrast, enhanced by the naturally aged patina.
Inspired by traditional Chinese temple furnishings, these striking candlesticks bring sculptural presence and architectural character to a mantel, console, altar, or curated collection of Asian antiques.
A distinctive decorative pair that complements chinoiserie, Asian-inspired, Hollywood Regency, and eclectic interiors.
