Spanish Revival Carved Mahogany & Wrought Iron Brazier Fire Pit Coffee Table

Antique Spanish Revival Carved Mahogany & Wrought Iron Brazier Fire Pit Coffee Table

An exceptionally unusual early 20th-century Spanish Revival low table or brazier, dramatically constructed in mahogany with hand-carved architectural detailing and extensive iron ornamentation.

The circular top is composed of individual mahogany sections arranged in a striking radial sunburst or pinwheel pattern, each terminating at the perimeter with a decorative metal medallion. Beneath the top, the substantial carved framework creates a deep, sculptural profile with repeating geometric and scroll-form details around the entire circumference.

At the center is a removable iron plate, revealing the recessed circular opening beneath. The plate is finished with riveted detailing and accompanied by its original-style iron fire tools, giving the piece much of its distinctive Old World character. The combination of warm, beautifully aged wood and dark patinated metalwork is particularly impressive when viewed from above.

At 48 inches in diameter, this is a substantial statement piece that can function beautifully as a low coffee or cocktail table while retaining the character of its original brazier/fire-pit design. Its bold proportions and unusual construction make it especially suited to Spanish Revival, Mediterranean, Gothic Revival, Hacienda, Old World, or eclectic interiors.
