A striking vintage Italian single-leaf desk or table lamp designed by Carlo Giorgi and Tommaso Barbi for Bottega Gadda, dating to circa the 1960s.
The sculptural lamp is formed as a single stylized brass leaf, displaying the organic botanical forms and glamorous metallic finishes associated with Italian decorative design of the period. A concealed single light fitting positioned behind the leaf creates a warm, indirect glow while allowing the sculptural brass form to remain the focal point.
Handcrafted in Italy, these distinctive lamps combine functional lighting with sculptural artistry and are wonderful examples of the exuberant approach to natural forms found in postwar Italian design.
