Antique Empire Carved Flame Mahogany 2 Drawer Drop-Leaf Sewing Work/Side Table

This gorgeous 19th century balanced and proportioned drop-leaf sewing work/side table is crafted from a lustrous flame mahogany. This piece is distinguished by a sculpted, hand-carved urn-shaped central column rising to a rectangular drop-leaf top. It has two convex shaped dovetailed drawers, flanked by a finely carved acanthus inlay. Acanthus carvings also run along the down-curved legs, all the way to its beautifully finished paw feet.
