An exceptional Jacobean Revival occasional table featuring a unique reversible top, allowing it to function as either a practical slate-top side table or a decorative caned plant stand. Crafted in the early 20th century, the table showcases richly carved oak construction with classic English Barley Twist legs and stretchers.
The circular apron is beautifully adorned with deeply carved scrolling foliate motifs and rosettes, while the four barley twist legs are joined by matching spiral stretchers for added stability and visual appeal. The removable top features a solid black slate surface on one side for displaying drinks, lamps, or decorative objects, while the reverse reveals an original hand-caned insert, offering a lighter, more decorative presentation ideal for plants or accent pieces.
