Standing just over three feet tall, this Martaban-style stoneware jar is much larger in person than it first appears. The rich jade green glaze covers a substantial, incredibly heavy body, with slight irregularities in the shape and small handles that give it the character of something made by hand rather than perfectly manufactured. There’s very little wear, allowing the depth of the green glaze to really take over. Simple in form but monumental in scale, it’s one of those pieces that doesn’t need much decoration.

CONDITION: Very minimal marks. Two small 1/4 penny size marks, but not noticeable to the eye. Adds character and age to the overall look.
