Antique French Empire Style Crystal Basket Chandelier in the Style of Baccarat
An exceptional antique chandelier in the style of Baccarat, featuring cascading strands of faceted crystal beads that descend into a generously rounded basket. Leaf-shaped glass ornaments accent the central rim, while delicate crystal swags, elongated drops, and a smaller lower basket complete its dramatic silhouette.
Measuring 66 inches tall, this chandelier brings striking vertical presence and luminous sparkle to a grand foyer, staircase, or formal interior. When illuminated, its intricate crystal strands evoke the glamour of historic theaters and elegant European salons.
Acquired through an antique collector’s private estate auction, the chandelier reportedly once hung in a theater in Chicago’s Theater District before being removed during renovations approximately 30 years ago.
Professionally rewired and fully functional, this is a remarkable statement piece whose scale and beauty are best appreciated in person.
