Antique Monumental French Bronze & Gilt Male and Female Figural Putti Torchiere Lamps – Pair

An extraordinary pair of monumental antique French figural torchiere lamps, featuring complementary male and female classical figures supporting sculptural putti upon their shoulders.

Each beautifully modeled figure rises from an exceptionally tall, tapered architectural pedestal embellished with gilt foliate ornamentation, classical drapery and decorative mounts. Perched upon the shoulder of each figure is a sculptural putto holding an electrified torchiere aloft, creating a dramatic vertical composition from base to light.

The contrasting dark bronze-toned figures and architectural bases are beautifully accented with rich gold-gilt detailing, highlighting the draped garments, classical ornamentation and torchieres.

Designed as a complementary male and female pair, these monumental torchieres have tremendous architectural presence and are impressive from every angle. Their exceptional scale makes them ideal for flanking a grand entrance, fireplace, staircase, doorway or other substantial interior.

A spectacular pair of French figural decorative arts, combining sculpture, architecture and functional lighting into true statement pieces.
