Grand in scale and beautifully aged, this early 20th-century Shanxi coffee table pairs a warm woven rattan top with a substantial elm frame and dramatic swirling carved legs. The original finish and naturally developed patina give the wood layers of depth and character, while the woven surface brings an unexpected softness to its heavy, sculptural form. At nearly seven feet long, it’s an unusually large example with a beautifully imperfect, collected presence.
