Antique Victorian Eastlake Round Tilt-Top Games Table with Tooled Leather Top, Dated 1873
An exceptional antique Victorian Eastlake tilt-top games table, stamped with the patent date February 18, 1873. The table features a round leather-wrapped top with an elegant gilt-tooled border surrounded by a richly figured burlwood veneer band.
The intricately carved walnut base displays outstanding Victorian craftsmanship, with turned spindle supports, carved scroll brackets, decorative finials, circular carved medallions, and incised linear ornament incorporating Greek Key-inspired motifs. The tabletop tilts upright for convenient storage when not in use and locks securely into place for use.
Beautifully proportioned and highly decorative, this table is equally suited for cards, chess, or display, making it an elegant addition to a library, study, parlor, or traditional interior.
