Large Italian Venetian Rococo Style Giltwood Wall Mirror with Mirrored Border
Regular price$4,500.00 USD
/
An impressive Italian wall mirror featuring an elaborate giltwood frame surrounding a rectangular mirror plate and inset mirrored borders. The tall, pierced crest displays sweeping C-scrolls, leafy flourishes, and floral accents, creating a dramatic silhouette.
Layered moldings and small applied ornaments lend depth to the frame, while scrolling side details and pronounced lower flourishes complete the architectural composition. The warm gold finish contrasts beautifully with the aged appearance of the narrow mirrored panels.
Standing nearly six feet tall, this mirror makes a striking focal point above a console, in an entryway, or as part of a richly layered living room. Retains a “Made in Italy” label on the reverse.
CIRCA 20th Century, estimated; in the 18th-century Venetian Rococo style.
DIMENSIONS H 70” W 38”
CONDITION Age-related wear and scattered losses to the gilt finish, with spotting and deterioration to the mirrored border panels. Reverse paper backing is torn.
