Vintage Monumental French Empire Style Mahogany, Brass & Green Marble Commodes - Pair
An exceptional and highly decorative pair of vintage French Empire-style commodes, crafted in richly finished mahogany and crowned with substantial shaped green marble tops. Dramatic in scale and ornamentation, the pair embodies the grandeur of French Empire and Neoclassical design.
Each commode features a commanding architectural façade embellished with extensive cast brass ornamentation. The cabinet doors are centered by elaborate classical military trophy mounts, incorporating lion-mask medallions, armor, standards, drapery, oak leaves and martial motifs. Fluted corner columns with decorative brass bands terminate in impressive paw-form feet, while additional rosettes, medallions, foliate borders and classical mounts continue throughout the case.
Two upper drawers provide concealed storage, while the double cabinet doors open to reveal a spacious shelved interior. The richly veined green marble tops create a striking contrast against the warm mahogany and golden brass decoration.
The exceptional amount of ornamentation, substantial proportions and matched-pair configuration give these commodes tremendous decorative presence. Ideal as statement pieces flanking a fireplace, positioned beneath large mirrors or artwork, or used in a grand entry, dining room, library or living space.

Please be aware that all items are used/vintage/antique and have small signs of age/patina which should be expected. We do not have original keys to lock the cabinets. We do add a magnet so it can be open and closed.

If an order is canceled after 24 hours, we will offer store credit minus a 20% restocking fee of the items listed price as long as the item is not in transit.
