Exceptional vintage Italian Capodimonte porcelain table lamp featuring an elaborate hand-painted Rococo-style courting scene and a magnificent original fringed fabric shade.
The beautifully sculpted porcelain base depicts an elegantly dressed lady playing the harp for a seated gentleman, surrounded by an abundance of delicately modeled flowers, scrolling Rococo ornamentation, and intricate gilded accents. The figures are dressed in richly detailed 18th-century-inspired attire, painted in soft pastel hues of pink, blue, ivory, and gold.
The ornate porcelain composition is crowned by a dramatic ivory fabric lampshade featuring elegant cascading swags, gathered detailing, and long decorative fringe. The oversized shade beautifully complements the romantic character and elaborate craftsmanship of the sculptural base.
A charming example of Italian decorative porcelain artistry, this distinctive lamp makes a beautiful statement for a traditional living room, bedroom, French Rococo-inspired interior, or antique porcelain collection.
